Later they moved their seat of power to Portumna, having built a fortified manor on the shores of Lough Derg (pre-1618). WebbPortumna ( Port Omna: "landing place of the oak") is a village in County Galway at the north end of Lough Derg. With a population of 1450 in 2016, it's best known for its fine castle and gardens.
